Responsibilities
- Carry out keyword and search intent research for new and existing content.
- Maintain a keyword map, so that each page targets a distinct intent and pages do not compete.
- Review titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal links and image alt text.
- Audit technical SEO: crawlability, sitemaps, canonical addresses, structured data, redirects, page speed and mobile usability.
- Brief writers and the editor on topics, questions and related terms.
- Monitor search performance, and report results and recommendations each month.
- Identify content that needs updating, merging or removing.
- Keep up with search engine guidelines, and apply them.
Qualifications
- Proven experience of SEO for content websites.
- Skill with search analytics and keyword research tools.
- A sound understanding of technical SEO, and of structured data.
- The ability to explain findings clearly to writers and developers.
- A commitment to methods that follow search engine guidelines.
- Experience in health, beauty or other topics where accuracy and trust matter is an advantage.
